As the decade draws to a close, it’s plain to see that electronic dance music has well and truly left it’s mark on the world, and proven itself internationally as an untameable beast that is not going
anywhere, anytime soon.  Empathy have one last digital release for the decade and it’s a goodie!  [EMPD013] comes to you in the form of a Nu-Skool Breaks, hoover workout. With slick drum production and a broody vibe we know you will just lap up.  We welcome new comers to the Empathy ranks San Francisco producers ‘Hostage’ aka Anthony Rotella and Nick Weiler.  Already well established electronic music producers individually, they teamed up in 2005 to try their hand at producing some deep, hard and high impact Nu-Skool Breaks…and very quickly Hostage was born.  It didn’t take long for them to make their mark worldwide, with tunes being snapped up left right and centre.  We are now excited to add to the growing Empathy Digital Catalogue [EMPD014] Hostage – Ghost Riding / Butt Milk’n /.  For those who haven’t already witnessed the beauty of these tracks, we encourage you to check the audio clips.  Both tracks kick some serious butt and will devastate any breaks DJ’s dance floor.

Back before you can blink, Empathy has another quality release lined up for all you electronic music junkies featuring newcomers from Russia – Â The Thrillabeats, who have quite literally been dropping bombs over the last couple years.
The release ‘EMPD012’ features three hard as nails breaks tracks infused with distorted bass, calculated frenzied beats, and a ridiculous number of edits. There are no stops on this ride which is definitely not for the faint hearted. We recommend these to be played through the bigger PA systems.
1. White Papoo vs Double_Negative – Dead City (Original)
A solid collaboration from both outfits, this track highlights the best of what both producers have to offer in 2009. Grimey bass and tearing leads from Double_Negative, twisted into unrecognisable funk by the slick studio maestro White Papoo. Tamed with soaring pads & melodic touches, we suggest you listen to the preview here and find out for yourself.
2. White Papoo vs Thrillabeats – Savane
Again with the collaboration effort, this time between White Papoo and Thrillabeats this tune will literally turn your mind inside out. The Thrillabeats bring the heaviness and White Papoo brings the twisted funk he is renowned for.  The combination is infectious and relentless and the track comes with a R18 rating for pure filth factor. 3. White Papoo vs Double_Negative – Dead City (Double_Negative Remix)
Double_Negative with a solo effort here, remixing the original into quite a different monster. Slightly taming the frenzied feel of the original, Double_Negative delivers a standout remix. Featuring a rollout bass heavy feel, this is definitely one for the early morning crew. Preview

EMPD011: K-Lab feat MC Analog – Wrecked + Remixes
Empathy Digital is proud to present the killer new release – ‘Wrecked’ feat MC Analog by newcomer on the scene, K-Lab.
Queenstown lad Caleb is one half of the breakthrough drum n bass act Blackplanet. With dnb firmly under his belt K-lab has momentarily turned his attention to producing some more experimental breakbeat influenced tunes. His latest release takes the form of a mid tempo ghetto bass workout which hits in all the right places. Quick draw, hip hop style vocals from the talented MC Analog flow alongside a wobbly bassline. Add some tight drum programming and we’re away laughing with a 105bpm chunktastic monster of a track.
One phat track is never enough for Empathy so we got friends and demon producers White Papoo, Opiuo and Evil to lend their production skills to remixing the track:
A: K-Lab feat MC Analog – Wrecked (White Papoo Remix)
French based producer Eddy Benitaue aka White Papoo has delivered a dancefloor ready nu-skool breaks version of the track. With White Papoo finger marks all over this remix, those who have come to love and appreciate Eddys amazing production skills will not be disappointed. Clocking in at 135bpm, this is a reach for the lazers remix, shake that arse!
B: K-Lab feat MC Analog – Wrecked (Opiuo Remix)
Imagine a precisely blended concoction of tight irresistible grooves, chunk fueled bouncy beats, luscious brooding soundscapes, and a bowl of scrumptious glitch. Ex Kiwi Opiuo (Oscar) brings to the ring a devastating low blow with this remix. No element of the track ever sits still yet it retains that midtempo funk and Opiuo vibe we know and dig.
C: K-Lab feat MC Analog – Wrecked (Evil Remix)
Friend and fellow badman NZ’s own EVIL of the premier dubstep label Bassweight Recordings was keen to get on board with a dubstep remix which delivers on all fronts. Staying true to the party vibe of the original tune, Evil makes great use of original samples and brings the wobness supreme vibe he is renowned for.
