Streaming direct from the near future ‘McFly was a Raver’ is glitch hop at its eclectic best. K+Lab and Funkdamunk hit you with thick slabs of elastic bass bouncing you from floor to ceiling while their synthesizers take aim at your knees.
‘Ahi Haka’ comes at you with explosive force, launching its drive by assault with chainsaw synths that cut to the bone. Subtle variations of old school breaks form the backbone of the attack giving you brief moments of relief before leading you straight back into the fray.
Swag takes the down deep. Funkdamunk lures you in with subtle vocal snippets and relaxed tints of melody before bringing out a bass line that pushes things through the floor..
K+Lab is now a regular feature on glitch hop charts and DJ playlists worldwide. Funkdamunk is nipping closely at his heels. Who will win this battle for broken beat supremacy?
This release will be available the first Wednesday of November from all your favourite online retailers: beatport.com, additech.com, junodwonload.com, itunes and more.

EMPD011: K-Lab feat MC Analog – Wrecked + Remixes
Empathy Digital is proud to present the killer new release – ‘Wrecked’ feat MC Analog by newcomer on the scene, K-Lab.
Queenstown lad Caleb is one half of the breakthrough drum n bass act Blackplanet. With dnb firmly under his belt K-lab has momentarily turned his attention to producing some more experimental breakbeat influenced tunes. His latest release takes the form of a mid tempo ghetto bass workout which hits in all the right places. Quick draw, hip hop style vocals from the talented MC Analog flow alongside a wobbly bassline. Add some tight drum programming and we’re away laughing with a 105bpm chunktastic monster of a track.
One phat track is never enough for Empathy so we got friends and demon producers White Papoo, Opiuo and Evil to lend their production skills to remixing the track:
A: K-Lab feat MC Analog – Wrecked (White Papoo Remix)
French based producer Eddy Benitaue aka White Papoo has delivered a dancefloor ready nu-skool breaks version of the track. With White Papoo finger marks all over this remix, those who have come to love and appreciate Eddys amazing production skills will not be disappointed. Clocking in at 135bpm, this is a reach for the lazers remix, shake that arse!
B: K-Lab feat MC Analog – Wrecked (Opiuo Remix)
Imagine a precisely blended concoction of tight irresistible grooves, chunk fueled bouncy beats, luscious brooding soundscapes, and a bowl of scrumptious glitch. Ex Kiwi Opiuo (Oscar) brings to the ring a devastating low blow with this remix. No element of the track ever sits still yet it retains that midtempo funk and Opiuo vibe we know and dig.
C: K-Lab feat MC Analog – Wrecked (Evil Remix)
Friend and fellow badman NZ’s own EVIL of the premier dubstep label Bassweight Recordings was keen to get on board with a dubstep remix which delivers on all fronts. Staying true to the party vibe of the original tune, Evil makes great use of original samples and brings the wobness supreme vibe he is renowned for.
